what a smile!

matthew finally had his braces taken off over two months ago!
before:

if you look below you can see the after. isn't he handsome? however, much to his dismay, he has to wear a retainer for the next couple of years.

baby update: calli has cut two teeth and more are on the way. she is still a very happy and talkative baby. she loves carrots and sweet potatoes, her brother, and listening to grandpa doug singing with his guitar. the life of a baby-how simple!

happy birthday uncle joel!!!

That's right ladies, Joel is legal.

So, Joel turned 18 over a month ago and I'm finally posting pics from his big day.

Aren't they all adorable? Matthew and Calli are growing up too fast.

i've got yummy in my tummy

Calli had her four month check-up on Friday and weighed in at a whopping 14 pounds (55% percentile), that's our girl. The nurse suggested starting her on baby food. So, to her delight we started with sweet potatoes:

By the next day she had the hang of "eating" from a spoon. Now she grunts at us if we don't feed her fast enough, I hope she doesn't expect this be appropriate eating etiquette.

how cute is she?

Nothing much happening in the land of Coheland. It is busy season for mom and school work for dad. Our weekends consist of watching Calli make new faces and listening to her laugh. For your viewing pleasure:
Hours old...

Two months...

Three months...

Notice Calli's new friend, Betsy the cow, and the blanket made by Matthew and Grandma Ruth.
Calli transitioned from our room to her crib very nicely and has been sleeping through the night since mid December. She is a delight in the morning, never fusses, and waits patiently, with smiles, for us to come get her out of bed.

go Calli go!!!

Calli has reached a couple of milestones. 1. Yesterday she rolled from tummy to tooshy. 2. This morning we discovered she was ticklish. We don't have pictures as proof, so another adorable picture of Calli will have to suffice.

I don't want to be one of those competitive parents, but apparently she beat out a baby that is two weeks older then her (relating to milestone #1). I'm not saying she's superior, but she IS a Cohelan.

let it snow???

Although, it's been a couple of weeks, Spokane received a crazy amount of snow during December:

Thank you Jer for all your hard work this season!!! Can't wait for next year... Well, at least Matthew got a three week long winter break versus only two weeks. Kids have it so easy now a days.
The huge amount of snow and city shut down did not happen in vain, we now know that pugs do not like snow that is too deep for them (which equivalates to only one inch) and beagles can't get enough.

happy new year

Okay, I've succumbed to the hype of blogging. I blame my co-workers, Joy and Jeannette. Plus, we have a new addition and what better way then to let the world know of her perfection. Anyway, I feel it appropriate that our first picture is of Calli enjoying her first goody on New Year's Eve day:

That's right, grandmas... licorice. What every growing newborn needs. I think there is more on her face then in her belly.
The only thing better than a healthy baby is a helpful older brother: Matthew, my little right hand man.

Thanks for all your help, buddy. We're blessed to have you!

And let's not forget the back-up baby sitters:

Need I say more???
Well, here goes to the Cohelan's attempt to staying connectted with friends and family via the internet. Picking up a phone or sending a newsletter takes way too much effort. ENJOY!!!
